Please keep in mind the following types of information that we would need to provide you with a quotation.  The following suggestions are a generalization.  Different types of information may be necessary depending on the type of job.

Diagrams are always welcome.

1.   A brief description of the item (folder, envelope, letterhead, wire-o book, etc.)

  • flat size of the item

  • folded size of the item

  • finished size

2.  Quantity breakdowns

3.   What size sheet are you going to supply us with?  How many out of the sheet?

4.   The type (cover/text) and weight of the stock you are supplying?

5.   The major operations necessary for the job;

  • Stamping - provide foil color and area size.  One side or two sides? 

  • Embossing - provide area size and if single level or more.  Blind emboss or in register.

  • Diecutting - provide area size to be diecut out or kisscut  

  • Lamination - provide thickness of lamination desired - 1.7 mil, 3 mil, 5 mil or 10 mil.
        (If you are looking for 1 sided application, this can only be done in 1.7 mil.) 
        We will also need to know if the job calls for encapsulation, which is an extended edge on all four sides (usually 1/8” all around), or flush cut finishing.   
        Will the job call for matte or gloss film?

  • Index Tabbing - Do you want mylar on the tab?  If so, clear or colored and if colored which colors and in what order for what position tab?   
        Is the tab a standard contour?  
        Is the customer looking for clear reinforcing on the binding edge?  
        Should the tabs be three hole drilled and what size hole? 
        Would you like the tabs collated?  Forward, reverse?  Provide order for collation.

  • Mechanical Binding - What type of binding would the customer prefer and in what color?  
        How will the job be supplied?  In full sheets or cut and collated?  
        How many leaves of paper (1 leave = 2 pages) text & covers - and the type & weight of the stock? 
        How thick is the final book?

  • Mounting - What type of board would you like the sheet mounted to?  50pt w/1/s etc.  
        Do you want an easel affixed to the back of the poster?  Single or double wing?  White two sides (w/2/s)  or plain chip? 
        Do you want a clear pocket affixed to the front of the poster?  What size literature does the pocket have to hold?

  •  Padding - How many sheets per pad?  On which dimension does it pad?  
        How will stock be supplied?              
        Does it require a board backer?  Will the backer be supplied also?

  • Shrinkwrapping - How many pieces to a pack?    
        Do you want the packaging shrunk (tight) or left loose? 
        Does the wrap require a board stiffener?

  • Transfer taping - What type of tape are you looking for?  Permanent, Removable, Semi-Permanent, or Hi-Lo (which is a single strip of tape that is permanent one side and removable on the other).
        What size tape are you looking for?  Liner size - 2”, 1”, 3/4”, 1/2”  to yield an adhesive 1/4” smaller then liner size.

  • Velcro affixing - What are you looking for?  Dots or strips?
        What size?
        What color?  White or Black

  • Is special packing required? - Carton convenient - 35 lbs or under
        Shrinkwrap in a certain quantity per pack?
        Skid pack?
        Box in a certain quantity per box?

  • Special delivery instructions?
